Our lively new year walk buzzed with fresh ideas: from beekeeping to allotments and environmental art, films to festivals, conversations about transport, waste and energy stimulated by the views of the new Ouse valley incinerator, plans for wildlife walks and a village connections cycle ride...

There was no evidence of green moles or agents provocateurs... just enthusiastic people enjoying a local walk motivated by the desire…

Local Transport Consultation - Cycling

 

Cycle Seahaven have forwarded details of their very well crafted response to the ESCC draft transport strategy in an attempt to promote local cycling provision.  Details attached.cycleseahavenLTP3a.pdf

Cow Factory Farming campaign

 

Thanks to Irene for details of the 38 degrees campaign to question current plans to build huge 'mega-dairies' in Lincolnshire.  These huge, US-style factory farms keep cows inside all year. The cows aren't even fed on grass.

A Creative Hub for Lewes

An exhibition of the work of Brighton university architecture students imagining a much needed creative hub for local artisans will be held at the Lewes Foundry this week.

The new interactive bus map on the East Sussex County Council website has made it easier for residents and people working in the county search for their destination, the bus number they require, or click directly on the map destination. We have been reassured by David Rogers a local county councillor and chairman of the Local Government Association Community Well Being board that the government are finally considering the proposals made by all local councils last summer as part of this process.
